Why 1 Logo File Will Not Fill All Your Needs!

There is no one size fits all when it comes to the logo you use for your brand.  If you ever tried to use the only image you have of your logo for everything then you know the issues you’ve run into.

So here are the 4 Essential Image Files you need for your Brands Logo:

1 EPS File: A Vector file. This unique file type can contain both text and graphics.

- It’s important to have a vector version of your logo if you plan on using promotional products like pens, banners, and other offline marketing strategies. This high-resolution file will ensure that your promo products, mailers, and packaging doesn’t look pixelated. This file format is used mostly for full-color ads and large size reproductions.

2 JPG File: A Rasterized file. JPG files are useful because they are compressed and therefore can be shared and uploaded easily onto a website or social media pages.

- Most logos as a JPG file format will have a white background which is best suitable for your adding your logo to your email signature or setting it as your Facebook Business profile picture. You will want to steer clear of using this image file format on printed products.

3 PNG File: A Rasterized file. What’s unique about the PNG file is that the image background is transparent, making it ideal to add to your business website and other online applications where there is a colored background. This format is used mostly for the web.

- Remember that your PNG logo image may not look ideal against a background of the same color, so make sure you have a JPG file at the ready just in case you run into this issue. PNG image files also contain 24bit RGB color palettes and greyscale, which means they are easy to edit.

4 PDF File: A Vector file. It’s become a popular way to transfer logos due to its vector format and transparency.

- It’s also possible to preserve illustrator-editing capabilities when saving in this format, meaning it can be opened and modified in the same way an AI file can. Many vendors ask for this file for printing promotional products.

Lets Recap

Save this, right it down, know this!

There are so many other images files that can be produced for your logo. However, these will cover all of your basic online marketing and printed promotion needs. Since each have their pros and cons it’s necessary to know how file can be used fo your business branding plan. If need additional image files for your logo be sure to get them to handle your business and not hold it up or look unprofessional.

Let’s be real. When you see promotional material online or print and it doesn’t look right you are less likely to trust it. So keep in mind that you may need to spend the additional amount in order to obtain these files.
