How Can You Create Measurable Goals And Recognize Them?

Being deep in the weeds of your business it can be hard to notice if you’ve made any growth to yourself

For example, if someone is trying to lose weight and look at themselves in the mirror every day. They may not notice some inches lost here and there over time if they are only looking in the mirror every day. Why? It’s not because they are not putting in the work to lose weight, but it can be hard to recognize progress made if they're so used to seeing what they see in the mirror. There are other ways to track their progress, like if their clothes are fitting looser or all the "are you losing weight" comments they may be getting.

Sometimes we need to adjust what success looks like to us outside of what the world is yelling at us. Along with knowing how to detect when we hit our goals. Sometimes we may have hit them and didn't notice because we weren't tracking them. Or we put so much pressure on ourselves to hit a big goal in a small amount of time. Thus minimizing any progress we've made along the way.

REFLECTING…….

Here's a tip to great create measurable goals if you don't know where to start. Mark down where you are currently in your life or business, then where you want to be in 3 months, and reverse engineer.

How Can You Create Measurable Goals And Recognize Them?

First thing first! Do not keep them all in your mind! We come up with so many things and never write them down. Siri has been my personal assistant when gotten things down when I don't feel like writing things out. So find a place where you can write/talk-to-text your goals and milestones to view periodically. Reviewing them often will help you stay focused and you'll be able to recognize when you're hitting them.

Start by asking yourself how you measure success. It should be unique to what you ultimately need to happen to know that your business is growing or what you want your life to be. Is it being able to hire more employees, take more time off, or increase website traffic by 25%?

What does it look like behind making more money?

When you know what success looks like to you. Then it's about how to know when you get there. You can do this by creating milestones towards those goals. Having milestones and keeping track of them, which is key, can help you see the progress you're making along the way.

When creating goals for yourself start by outlining what you would like to do realistically in 3 months. Creating smaller goals is helpful with the overwhelmed of trying to do too much and will move you closer to your overall idea of success over time. Is it updating your website? Getting brand strategy to align with your consumers? Creating your Black Friday marketing campaign?

Whatever it may be. Break down the steps that need to be done to complete the goals. These will be your milestones. Then keep checking on your progress by reviewing your milestones and checking them off as you do them. Being active in seeing the progress you've made lets you know you're making progress.

I hope this helps you in creating the growth you want to see in your life and business. If you need help with the stages of your growth let me know here and see where I can assist you!
